On 123movies, Steven Moffat’s intense drama Inside Man features Stanley Tucci as Jefferson Grieff, a quiet yet brilliant prisoner on death row for murdering his wife. People visit him to seek help with their stalled investigations, and he enjoys toying with them before finally offering solutions to their pressing problems. Grieff’s story unfolds alongside seemingly unrelated events in an English village involving the kind-hearted vicar Harry (David Tennant) and the rather unfriendly math tutor Janice (Dolly Wells). We first meet Janice as she defends young journalist Beth Davenport (Lydia West) and other women from a drunken harasser on the subway. Soon after, Harry receives a flash drive from young clergyman Edgar (Mark Quartley) containing disturbing images of child abuse. A confrontation between Harry and Janice leaves her unconscious and locked in a basement. As Grieff chillingly states, “We’re all murderers; we just haven’t met the right person yet.” When Beth visits Grieff in prison for an interview and asks for advice on Janice’s disappearance, the two narratives begin to intertwine in unexpected and shocking ways.
